Qualification Requirements:

The horse must be registered with the American Morgan Horse AssociationThe owner/lessee of the horse must be a member in good standing of the Morgan Horse Association of Oregon (MHAO).  Ownership of the horse may be transferred during the show year to another MHAO member without affecting the horse’s score.  The award will be made to the owner/lessee of record at the time the horse wins its last point for the year.

The owner/lessee must submit a registration form with the high point secretary indicating the desire to participate in the High Points Award Program and in what Divisions/categories you wish to participate.

Both the high point registration form and the MHAO High Point Declaration Form will be available to be downloaded from the MHAO website and will be distributed with the Stable Sheet.  You may also e-mail the High Points Secretary to obtain copies of the forms.

Points will be accumulated from the date of registration forward.  With exception of the current year (October > September), due to the lateness of the distribution of the guidelines.

Explanation of Divisions:

1.        Morgan Division:

a.        Points at ALL Morgan Shows count

b.       Points earned at the following Morgan shows will automatically be recorded by the High Point Secretary:

                                                                           i.      Key Classic Morgan Horse Show, Monroe, WA

                                                                          ii.      Far West Regional Show, Redmond, OR

                                                                        iii.      Oregon Morgan Classic Horse Show, Salem, OR                                                                         iv.      PNW Morgan Horse Show, Spanaway, WA

Points for other Morgan Shows need to be submitted to the High Point secretary using     the MHAO High Point Declaration form.  It is recommended that show results be submitted at least monthly.  Final results must reach the High Point Secretary by October 15^th of each show year in order to be included in the final tabulations.

d.       Points will be tallied by horse, except in the Junior Exhibitor and equitation classes where they will be tallied by rider.  Awards will go to High point and Reserve High Point.

                                                                         ix.      Miscellaneous: any classes other than those listed above, e.g. Showmanship, Trail, Road Hack, Bridle Path Hack, Roadster, Combination classes, Side Saddle, Costume, Natural Park, Carriage Driving, Heritage Driving etc

2.        Open Division

a.        All shows that are open to breeds other than Morgan will be included in the Open Division.

b.       <Points will be submitted to the High Point Secretary on the MHAO High Point Declaration form no later than October 15^th of the show year.

c.        Adult or open classes under saddle must include walk, trot and canter gaits.  Junior equitation walk/trot classes do count toward the equitation category.

d.       To qualify for the award the horse must be entered in at least 3 open shows during the show year.

e.        Equitation class points will be tallied by rider.  All others will be tallied by horse

f.         Awards will be given to High Point and Reserve High Point.

g.       <Open Division Categories:

                                                                          ii.      English Pleasure

                                                                        iii.      Hunter Pleasure

                                                                        iv.      Western Pleasure

                                                                         v.      Pleasure Driving

                                                                        vi.      Equitation – all seats

                                                                      vii.      Miscellaneous: any classes other than those listed above, e.g. Showmanship, Trail, Road Hack, Bridle Path Hack, Roadster, Combination classes, Side Saddle, Costume, Natural Park, Carriage Driving, Heritage Driving etc

3.        Western Working Horse Division

a.        This Division will include ALL Morgan Shows and Open Shows together.

b.       Only the Morgan Shows listed in 1b will be tallied automatically.  All other results will need to be submitted to the High Points Secretary using the MHAO High Point Declaration form by October 15^th of the show year.

c.        The points are tallied by horse.

d.       Awards to High Point and Reserve High Point for the overall division.

e.        This Division includes but is not limited to:

                                                                           i.      Reining

                                                                          ii.      Cutting/Roping/Team Penning/Working Cow Horse

                                                                        iii.      Gaming

4.        Sport Horse Division

a.        This Division will include the  Morgan Shows and Open Shows together.

b.       <![endif]>Only the shows listed in 1b will be tabulated automatically.  All others must be submitted to the High Points Secretary using the MHAO High Point Declaration Form no later than October 15^th of the show year.
